Urgent Prayer Request

Siestas, I received an email today from Michelle Bentham with this prayer request, please read it and begin praying for this family. Thank you, Patty

Hey Siesta Friends,

I have an urgent prayer request - will you please post this so as many siestas who read it will pray.

A young man my family knows well named Chaz, 16 years old, is fighting for his life today. He races motorcross and was involved in a very serious accident this weekend. He is in a drug induced coma and has a brain injury among other internal injuries. We are very concerned for he and his family. His parents are Jim and Tami and his brother is Tanner. Please just lift them up as oft as you think of it.

Chaz and his family were members of our church 3 years ago and walked with us through Justin's hospitalization and death. For months after Justin's death Chaz would greet me at church without a single word - He would simply walk up with tears in his eyes and give me a huge hug. He is the sweetest young man and a good friend to my youngest daughter.

Thanks.
Blessings,
Michelle Bentham

Oh Michelle-

First I want to say that I can't even begin to imagine the pain you have gone through at the loss of your precious son, Justin... I wish I could come up and wrap my arms around you right now... My heart just breaks for you all as you walk through this again with your close friends son...

I will be praying,,, this is close to my heart... my brothers son, Chas 12, was in a horrible skiing accident in February and was in a stage 3 coma, with a severe brain injury. Chas just got out of the rehab hospital 2 weeks ago... I promise I will be praying for you, Chaz and his family... please let us know an update

UPDATE: My daughter and I went to the hospital. Chaz has been awake on and off throughout the day. He started out calling his mother "Henry" and saying things like his last name was "Diez" and his father's last name was "Dirtwiggler."

However, this afternoon there was much improvement. He began to recognize and identify his family members and the doctor says that his CT Scans do not look much improved but Chaz physically and cognitively appears to be much improved.

This is a day to day situation still. He could relapse or suffer significant cognitive losses as a result of his injury. He is not in a drug-induced coma, but on heavy medication. He will be in teh hospital at least a week - but to God's glory he was taken to the #1 trauma center in North Texas.

His mom said he is definitely a miracle child. Prayers are working. The next three months are critical - he can do no physical activity AT ALL. Then they will retest and do a cognitive assessment at 6 months and that will be the long term prognosis. So - again, just as oft as you think of it please pray! It is all good news so far. He is on the road to recovery which is a great improvement from Last Night.

I am supposed to take my other daughter and her friend back tomorrow. I will keep you all posted.

THANKS AGAIN - SO MUCH. LOVE YA'LL! Emmy thank you for your sweet words. So much of this has brought back those painfully bittersweet memories of our journey just 3 years ago. God is good and He has taken care of us... Our healing has been complete this year. God bless you and your family - especially your nephew, Chas.

Blessings.

Lifting this young man up, Michelle. There have been so many motorcyle/ATV accidents lately that have hit close to home for us. Praying he makes a full recovery.

Lord,
We seek you, father. We thank you Lord, that you are God and you are in control father. We ask Lord that you would bring comfort and peace to this family right now. We thank you Lord that you are always with us and you never leave us. Father, put people in place Lord, to minister to them and help them. Send them some Jesus with skin. Father, we also ask that you would work through the doctors and nurses Lord. We pray that you would bring healing to this young man's life and restore him. Father, we thank you that we can come before you with all our petitions and requests, we thank you loving us. We praise you through this storm, we lift our eyes to the hills, Lord.
Our Help comes from you.
In Christ name,
AMEN.
