Siesta Spotlight - Kari

My name is Kari Stephens.

I haven't posted very often on the blog, I'm more of the blog watcher!
I'm 35 and live in College Station, TX.

I have 3 boys: Dakota - 11, Kye - 6 and Kru - 3. I have been married for almost 14 years to my husband, Darrin. I'm a teacher, but have been privileged to be at home for 6 years now to be full time mom, which I love! I did teach some writing classes to homeschoolers this past year.

I grew up in a church where my father was the pastor. I was very religious and a perfect PK. My mother died of cancer when I was 19 and that pushed me away from the Lord for a time. But I finally came to know the Truth and Jesus when I was 28 after losing our baby girl at 28 weeks pregnant. It was through that experience that I came to fully surrender my life and will to Him. So I really consider myself a "baby" Christian!

We moved to Texas 3 Julys ago from Lincoln, NE. I'm a mid-west girl, growing up in Colorado and Nebraska, so it has been a transition for me. Wowza the heat and humidity!!!! But I know the Lord moved us here! I go to a fabulous church here in College Station and have the honor to work with the Youth and Children's Ministry! In fact, I leave for pre-teen camp with my oldest, next week. I am passionate about worship and teaching children how to worship!

Let's see, I love my family, worship, Bible Study, Starbucks' Skinny Lattes, quiet time, scrapbooking, spending time with friends and most importantly, my Jesus, who has delivered me from untruth, heartbreak and loves me all the time!

Thank you Jesus!
Can't wait to meet y'all in San Antonio.

Hello, Kari! Today Lincoln hit 101! Everybody here is flipping out-it's been hot, but you know an 88 degree day is on it's way soon if we go by NE tradition! I guess you've heard about BO?! That has NE on it's feet again for the upcoming Husker season. Well, glad to hear from you have a blast at pre-teen camp...I'd love to be going to that! Blessings, Tabby

Howdy, howdy, howdy. Always a pleasure to meet someone from the great state of NE!! I miss it. And it's also nice to meet a siesta that is more a reader than a blogger like myself as well. See ya in SA.

Howdy Kari! Another College Station girl here. Whoop! Of course I grew up in Texas so I am somewhat used to the heat. Can't wait to meet you in SA. Let me know if you need to carpool.

It's nice meet you, we'll be neighbors in about a month! My husband & I are building a home in College Station now and are hoping to be moving in around Oct. 1st, if not before. I'll try to find you in San Antonio and introduce myself.

I'm a scrapbooker also, now wondering where to buy my supplies since the store in CS closed!!

See y'all soon!
