Siesta Spotlight - Nancy M.

I’ve been married to my husband Roy for 31 years.
Love him more today than when we first met.
He is a godly man and a prayer warrior.
He is also a lot of fun.

We never were able to have children, but have tons of nieces and nephews to love on. We have a gray cat named Buddy who started life as a boy but ended up being a girl.

I have worked at First Baptist Houston for six years, 5 years as the Ministries Associate. Jason, the minister I work with, is over Education, Men’s and Women’s Ministries and we work with all the ministers and directors in our area programming church wide events.

My friend Peggy and I are coming to the Siesta Fiesta. She and I have a comedic ministry which we have done for over 20 years. We have a lot of fun with it and have done things for teacher appreciation, leadership banquets, and women’s ministry. She and I have a blast creating the scripts and writing song parodies.

Our favorite ones right now are “Dancing with the Scars” and “Doing Church Work on a Budget” and when it is close to the holidays, we just call it “Getting Ready for the Holidays.”

Early on we got our start mainly doing preschool teachers dinners and have a great repertoire of songs just for the children’s and preschool areas. Peggy and I just have fun being friends.

I love hanging out with friends, shopping, reading Southern fiction, laughing, listening to music and napping.

Most would say my chief interest in life is hanging out at Nordstrom’s, but The Nord comes in at second or third place. Life has been an adventure filled with peace and joy, trials and setbacks since becoming a Christian at the age of 16.

I love that the Lord’s compassions are new every morning, He gives new mercies everyday and I love Him with all my heart.
